My first trip to Italy was in 1969. I spent a week in Florence which at that time was a town of narrow streets and frenetic traffic (there was no pedestrian center). The high water stains from the 1966 flood that had scoured many of the works of art stored in the Uffizi basement were still very evident on the walls. It was exciting, fascinating and unbelievably beautiful. Over the last 40+ years I have traveled over most of Italy including Sicily. Every area has its own delight. The dialects, food and people are different which means there is always something new. Over the last few years, I have left the great cities behind and spend my time in the small villages. Here are some of my pictures from my last few trips. I hope you enjoy them.
